For our manufacturing site based in Novi Sad, Serbia we are looking for a

Laboratory Engineer

General role:

The Laboratory Engineer is responsible for the development of measurement and laboratory methods in accordance with the customer requirements and internal specifications, as well as ensuring compliance with regulations for the use of hazardous substances and chemicals in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities:

• Plans the procurement of laboratory and measurement equipment for new projects in accordance with customer specifications and project requirements;
• Develops measurement and laboratory control methods for new products;
• Creates work instructions for laboratory testing and measurement of product characteristics in accordance with incoming inspection and production control plans;
• Performs and monitors laboratory measurements defined by control plans and maintains relevant SPC record;
• Ensures compliance with applicable requirements related to hazardous substances and chemicals, including REACH and RoHS;
• Maintains accurate records of chemicals and prepares relevant documentation and reports on the use of hazardous substances in products;
• Cooperates in activities related to the safe storage and handling of hazardous substances and chemicals;
• Participates in internal and external audits related to laboratory activities and areas of responsibility;
• Prepares required records, reports and documentation in accordance with internal requirements and instructions of the direct manager / superior.

 Qualifications:

• University degree (MSc, BSc); preferable: within study program minimum of 40 ESPB points in chemistry field;
• 3 or more years of relevant work experience in metrology / laboratory (experience in automotive industry would be considered as a strong advantage);
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements would be considered as an advantage;
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and ESD standards is considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of REACH and RoHS requirements, as well as experience working with the IMDS portal, is considered an advantage;
• Professional training and certification as a Chemical and Biocidal Products Management Advisor would be considered as an advantage;
• Excellent verbal and written English language communication skills;
• Good knowledge of MS Office;
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills;
• Strong problem-solving, planning and decision-making skills.
