Our client, ebs electronics d.o.o, is the newly established manufacturing entity of an Austrian-based group active in engineering, battery and electronics systems, as well as energy and service solutions for industries including renewable energy, automotive, MedTech and industrial systems.
As part of its growth in Serbia, the company is looking for an experienced Technical Product Lead to join its development team and take a key role in the technical steering and further development of its products.
These are your challenges:
Technical steering of the development team
- Implementing the technical vision and ensuring technically correct product delivery
- Taking responsibility for cross-functional requirements, system and subsystem modelling, validation and verification, as well as technical process conformity
- Supporting technical decision-making and change management
- Planning short-, medium- and long-term development activities together with the Product Manager
- Contributing at least 30% hands-on to implementation tasks
- Coordinating external service providers
Central point of communication
- Acting as a key technical contact for the development team, customers, external partners and other relevant stakeholders
- Facilitating communication and knowledge sharing within the team
- Taking responsibility for onboarding new team members
- Coordinating technical planning and communication with customers and relevant stakeholders
- Supporting knowledge transfer within the team
Ensuring development requirements and company strategy
- Monitoring technical progress and communicating status to the team and Product Manager
- Planning, preparing, facilitating and documenting technical reviews and meetings
- Supporting the continuous improvement of development processes, methods and tools
- Supporting the Product Manager and Marketing with product-specific technical documentation
Advising the Product Manager on product planning and development
- Contributing to the technical roadmap and product vision
- Identifying relevant standards
- Defining development requirements, content and scope
- Supporting effort and cost estimation
- Contributing to the definition of development processes and models
- Supporting product maintenance and further development
In addition to the defined core tasks, the role description also covers all activities arising in the context of product success, provided they are appropriate and reasonable.
What you bring with you:
System-level experience
- Strong experience in system architecture and system modelling, including UML / SysML
- Knowledge of communication interfaces such as serial, Ethernet and fieldbus
- Experience with variant management and configuration management
- Practical experience with test bench operation, maintenance and servicing, including HiL systems
- Experience with configuration management and associated tools such as SVN and Git
- Experience with release management and planning
- Experience with requirements management, including traceability from requirements to tests
- Knowledge of test methodologies and different test levels
Embedded software development
- Experience with MPSoCs, ideally AMD Zynq UltraScale+, and associated development tools
- Experience with ARM Cortex microprocessors and associated modern peripherals, including DDR4 memory controllers, DMA, coherency units and CoreSight
- Experience with embedded virtualisation and partitioning technologies such as hypervisors
- Knowledge of CPU-level mechanisms and instructions, including cache instructions and prefetching
- Experience with typical embedded interfaces such as SPI, UART, USB, I²C, CAN and DisplayPort
- Experience with modern embedded technologies such as ARM Trusted Firmware, SecureBoot and U-Boot
- Experience with memory interfaces including embedded flash, SD cards and EEPROM
- Experience with complex first- and second-level bootloaders as well as multi-boot systems
- Experience in creating and evaluating software design concepts
- Experience with rapid prototyping methodologies
- Experience in realising software concepts from component and module design through implementation to testing
- Experience in test execution and software integration
- Ability to create technical documentation during development and for qualification, including software design concepts, user documentation and developer documentation
- Experience with current CI/CD/CT pipelines, ideally GitLab, as well as associated frameworks for embedded operating systems such as RTOS and Linux
- Experience with embedded Linux build systems
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink as well as Simulink Embedded Coder
- Good knowledge of programming languages such as embedded C, C++ and Python
- Experience using common debugging tools such as JTAG debugger, console and CoreSight
FPGA development
- Experience with complex FPGA development, ideally AMD/Xilinx, and associated development tools
- Experience with VHDL and Verilog
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and Simulink HDL Coder
- Experience with high-speed communication buses and underlying functional blocks
- Experience with time synchronisation, both internal and external, including phase-locked loops (PLL)
- Experience integrating self-developed and commercial IP cores
- Experience with the development of testbenches and tool-assisted simulation
Hardware / printed circuit boards
- Experience reading and understanding complex analog, digital and mixed-signal schematics, including technologies from the FPGA domain
- Experience reading and understanding datasheets of complex electronic and power electronic components, such as IGBTs
- Experience reviewing hardware concepts from both system and software perspectives
- Practical experience with the software-side commissioning of newly developed PCBs
- Ability to create function- and interface-centric block diagrams
- Experience performing electrical measurements using laboratory equipment
Methodology and general experience
- Experience working in Agile development environments, including time-boxed development and tools such as JIRA
- Knowledge management experience, including tools such as Confluence
- Experience with AI-based approaches for knowledge building, e.g. using chatbots
- Openness to using AI tools for software development, such as Claude Code
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Empathy and the ability to handle conflicts effectively
